Fern Kathryn Hardesty, age 100 of Springfield, formerly of Ozark, passed away May 22, 2021. She was born July 30, 1920 in Champagne, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil Henry and Bessie Marie (Hall) Cazel.
On July 2, 1941, Fern was united in marriage to Harry Frederick Hardesty, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 1, 2007.
In addition to her husband, Fern was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George; and two sisters, Esther and Ruth.
Fern worked throughout her career as a federal office clerk for the U.S. Government until her retirement.
Survivors include: her children, Donald Hardesty and wife Esther of Ozark, Harry “Hardy” Hardesty, Jr. of Ozark and Ronald Hardesty and wife Marilynn of Ozark; eleven grandchildren, Melissa, Katrina, Jay, Traci, J.T., Amanda, Ronetta, Dawn, Connie, Wendy and Joshua; many great grandchildren; and a brother, Cecil Cazel.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 9-10 A.M. immediately before the funeral at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
