Faye Harville

May 4, 1917 — March 16, 2017

Faye Werre-Cochran was born in Kansas to parents Albert and Myrtle "Pruitt" Burkhart. She grew up in Christian County Missouri Ozarks, beautiful area and still is. Educated in area schools and soon after that married to Glenn Harville, the first love of her life. They made their home in Michigan City, Indiana. They had three children Harold; Helen and Susan. In 1944 they became happy and active members of Evergreen Baptist Church, they continued there until August of 1949 when a drunk driver hit them head on and took Glenn's life immediately. Faye was not expected to live and if so, she would never walk again. They planned a double service for Faye and Glenn. Faye was in a coma but they had to have Glenn's services anyway. With the Lord and the Church families help, they got along quite well. Harold graduated from Purdue University in 1959. Helen was married in 1959. Susan and Faye still lived in Michigan City in the same home. In October of 1963 Jack Were, who had lost his wife two years previously, called Faye on a Saturday night to go out to eat. Then on Mother's Day of 1964 he asked her to marry him. They were married on September 5, 1964. He was a friend and a "Charter Member" of the same church. He was living in Wheaton, Illinois so Faye had to make many adjustments. It was not easy, but she thought it was the Lords will. She had a wonderful job, which was a miracle too. They had 26 happy years together. He retired in 1973. They then moved back to Michigan City. Faye lost him on December 1, 1990 from Alzheimer's disease; it was a very trying time. In April 1990 Onnie Cochran lost his wife Lois. Lois and Faye worked together in Church activities, Child Evangelism and a clothing store. In November 1991 Onnie asked Faye to go to lunch with him and his daughter. Not long after that Onnie asked Faye to marry him. They both knew that they needed each other. They were married on Sunday morning of May 23, 1993. They came to California in October of 1994 and were very happy in First Baptist Church for 10 years. They were happy there until June of 2006. Because of his health and problems with falling and refusing doctors extended care, his son came after him and took him back to Indiana. Faye continued going to Bible Breakfast until her health failed. The Lord gets all the Glory. He has led Faye every step of the way! The first Bible verse Faye heard when she was about four years old, was Amos 4:12 "Prepare to meet thy God." John 3:16 says it all, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Faye is survived by her brother Jack Burkhart, and her children Harold and Tina Harville, Helen Coates, Susan and Larry Parks, Grandchildren Gilbert, Ruby, Charlie, Todd, Brad and Michael, great-grandchildren Angie, Stephanie, Tina, Jonathon, Jeffrey, Tyler, David, Megan, Brooke, Kristin, Demi, and Glenn, Nephews Dennis and Terry Horner and their Children Kelli, Christy, Shelly, and Jon. Visitation will take place Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 10:00 am with a Chapel Service to follow at 11:00 am at Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, 1700 W. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, California 93277. Serviced entrusted to Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel, Visalia. Faye's final resting place will be at Dogwood Cemetery in Missouri beside Glenn. A graveside funeral will be 11:30 AM Monday, March 27, under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, MO.
