Evelyn Lowe, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on March 16, 2024, in Ozark, MO. She was a pillar of strength and kindness to her family and friends throughout her life.
Evelyn was born in Erick, OK on October 14, 1940, to Samuel F. and Callie C. Brawley. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. Her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In her passing, Evelyn joins her parents, as well as her grandson Joseph M. Ungeheier, and great-grandson Matthew L. Ungerheier. While we mourn her loss deeply, we find solace in the beautiful memories she left us with.
Evelyn graduated from Jordan High School in Long Beach, CA. A Baton Majorette, she performed in the Rose Parade in California. She was also proficient in synchronized swimming.
While married to a Marine, Evelyn lived in several places before returning to California. She worked in Real Estate and Bank Loans before returning to school at age 55. She became a Psyche Tech working with the mentally challenged. Her love of horses led her to become a member of the Sheriff's Posse, riding up in to the Sequoia Mountains in California with a search and rescue team. Retirement was not on her radar and Evelyn volunteered for the Tulaire County Sheriff's Department and operated her horse ranch in Porterville, California.
In 2020 Evelyn moved to Ozark to be near her daughter. As with so many people Covid brought need for change in her life. She became a member of Hopedale Baptist Church in Ozark.
Evelyn is survived by her loving children: T. Scott Seltzer of St. Marie’s, ID; Cindy (Marcus) Ungeheier of Ozark, MO; and Ken Lowe of Porterville, CA. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Tasha Powell of Oregon City, OR; Sam (Marla) Ungeheier of Greenwood, MO; Matt (Emma) Ungeheier of Waxahachie, TX; and Erin Ungeheier of Albuquerque, NM.
The light of Evelyn's life also shines through her great-grandchildren: Isaac, Abby, Micah, Lilly, Sophia, Liam, Elsie, Aden, and Maverick. They will carry forward her kindness and compassion in their own lives.
Evelyn Lowe's presence will be deeply missed but forever treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved beyond measure.
According to her wishes Evelyn will be cremated. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, and Adams Crematory.
