Evelyn Glee Jones

Evelyn Glee Jones, age 90, formerly of Ozark, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Aberdeen Village, Olathe, Kansas. She was born September 7, 1923 in Lost Springs, Kansas, the youngest of five children born to Louis Victor and Mabel (Peterson) Strom. On November 26, 1949 she and Lawrence M. "Larry" Jones were united in marriage. Evelyn loved her family and enjoyed caring for her four sons and her grandchildren. While living in Ozark, Evelyn and Larry attended Ozark United Methodist Church and Cassidy United Methodist Church. Evelyn had a collection of over 5000 penguins. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, card games, attending sporting events with her family, and traveling with family and friends. Survivors include: four sons and their wives, Russell and Pat Jones of Raleigh, NC, Randy and Marsha Jones of Colorado Springs, CO, Ken and Phyllis Jones of Nixa, MO, and Curtis and Carol Jones of Ormond by the Sea, FL; grandchildren, Andy (Amie) Jones, Holly (Tony) Streck, Wendy (Anson) Nguyen, Stephanie Jones, Becky (Adam) Beck, Dan (Lisa) Jones, and Tim Jones; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry on August 13, 2006, two brothers, Verle and LaVere, two sisters, Louene and Carol, and her parents. A funeral service will be Saturday, April 26, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation will be from 1:30 - 3:00 PM Saturday before the service. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
