Evelyn Mae Davis, age 88, of Springfield, formerly of Ozark, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011. She was born February 1, 1923 in St. Louis, the daughter of F.A. and Opal (Engle) Ledbetter. On January 27, 1945 she and Don Howard Davis were united in marriage. Mrs. Davis accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized into the First Baptist Church of Ozark at the age of 14. She loved her church, was active in many organizations, and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Ozark Study Club, and enjoyed crocheting. Mrs. Davis retired as Managing Officer of Ozark Building and Loan Association after 22 year of service. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Don, a son, Kent Davis, Rolla; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Christina Farrar of Garden Grove, California. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, in Ozark First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Jeffries and Pastor Troy Rhoden officiating. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery, Ozark. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM on Wednesday until service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Memorial donations may be made to Ozark First Baptist Church Building Fund.
