Eulamae (Green) Haefling, age 93, of Ozark, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019. She was born October 17, 1925 in Ozark to Robert and Rosa (Bloomer) Green. Eulamae graduated from Ozark High School in 1943. She attended Oklahoma Baptist College and graduated from Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, receiving a degree in children's education. On June 26, 1949 she was united in marriage to Howard W. Haefling.
Eulamae's family describes her as a wonderful mother and homemaker. Her famous homemade pocket rolls and lavish Sunday dinners brought the family together every week. She decorated her home for the holidays and made everyone feel special. Spring was her favorite time of the year. She loved to hear the birds sing and see spring flowers come to life.
Eulamae was a devoted Christian lady, and was a long time member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She served the church as organist and pianist for many years and taught various children and adult Sunday school classes.
Survivors include: Her children, Steve Haefling and wife, Lorinda, of Rogersville, J.D. Haefling and wife, Mary Ann, of Rogersville, Beverly Thomas of Merriam, Kansas, and Barbara Patterson of Ozark; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Eulamae is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, March 30 at Smyrna Baptist Church, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jim Jeffries will officiate. Burial after the service will be in Weaver Cemetery, Ozark.
