Eugene Storie of Nixa, passed into his heavenly home on August 7th, 2019 after a yearlong struggle with his declining health. Eugene touched the lives of so many with his loving and caring ways and with his wonderful sense of humor. Eugene was born on October 4th, 1928, the second child to Raymond Clifford Storie & Eddeth Francis (McClary) Storie. Eugene spent many of his early childhood memories in the Hannah, MO area on his grandparents Charles and Martha McClary's farm. He later moved to Chicago with his mom Eddeth, his brother Bob, and his sister Evelyn. When he was 17 years old, he joined the Navy just after WWII. During his four years of service, he was stationed at Kwajalein Island and at locations in Europe where he was part of the Berlin Airlift. He also spent some of his service time based in Hawaii. Upon his return to Chicago from his four years of military service he became employed at Motorola and this is where he was employed for over 27 years. The biggest turning point in his life was shortly after his return to Chicago, IL and through the nudging of his Granny Nielsen that he met the love of his life, Jean Elinore Lindgren. They fell in love and were married shortly afterwards on December 24th, 1949. They made their life together and they were wonderfully blessed with their three children, Ellyn, Gary, and Craig. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his beloved wife Jean of Springfield, MO, and daughter Ellyn Smit of Brenham, TX, his son Gary (Linda), Tinley Park, IL, his son Craig (Diane), Frankfort, IL and his brother Bob (Paulette) Springfield, MO, his grandchildren; Sheri (Kriss) Dunn-Fannin, Tampa, FL, Deneen (Fred) Wilson, Culver, IN, Jon Windhorst, Tinley Park, IL, Jessica (Josh) Crowley, Newark, DE, Taylor (Caleb) Wyncott, Joliet, IL, the late Matthew (Katie) Storie, Joliet, IL, Eric Storie,(Amanda) Phoenix, AZ and Kim (Bryan) Davidowski, Imperial, MO, his 12 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, many cousins, family, and friends. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Clifford Storie and Eddeth McClary Neilsen, his stepfather Paul Neal Nielsen, his sister Evelyn Hodgerson, his grandson Matthew Allen Storie. The family gives a heartfelt thanks to the 417 girls and Haven Hospice for the excellent care they provided. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Fairview Baptist Church Laquey, Missouri. A graveside service will follow the funeral service at Fairview Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
