Etta Marie Mecke

Etta Marie (Davis) Mecke, age 71 of Springfield, Missouri, was born July 17, 1952 in Squires, Missouri to Marion Ardell Davis Sr. and Lee Ila (Arnold) Davis.  She departed from this world on December 13, 2023.  Etta served many years in the US Army as a heavy equipment operator and cargo specialist, earning the rank of Sergeant.  During her military career, she met the love of her life, Staff Sergeant Thomas Patrick Mecke Sr., and they were united in marriage on September 25, 1984.  They were married eleven years until her husband's death in January 1995.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Patrick Mecke Jr. and wife Kelsi Mecke; daughter, Anne Marie Mecke; son, Claude Lawson; sister, Pauline Quinley; brother, Butch Davis and his wife Diana Davis; sister, Mary Lee Main; brother, Tommy Arnold and wife Linda Sue Arnold; along with several grandchildren and countless other family and friends.

Etta is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Mecke Sr.; her son, Michael Lawson; her grandson, Forest Lawson; and twin sister, Edna Davis.  She will be greatly missed for her sense of humor, immense love for her family and friends, and stubborn attitude. 

Visitation will be from 10:30 AM - 11:30AM, Friday, December 22nd at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM with Pastor Tim May officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 PM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
