Ernest (Ernie) Lee Talent, age 78, of Springfield, MO passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 after a short illness. Ernest Lee, the son of Charles and Maude (Sullivan) Talent was born June 17, 1937 in Lorimor, Iowa. Shortly after graduating from Republic High School, Republic, MO, he served his country by joining the Army. A passion for working with livestock led Ernest Lee to a long career at the Springfield Union Stock Yards. In addition to his career, he enjoyed many hours working on his farm near Fordland, MO.
Ernest Lee loved the Lord and was dedicated to his church. He was a long-time member of High Street Baptist Church and currently attended Crossway Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Charles Talent and Kenneth Talent of Springfield, Missouri.
Ernest Lee is survived by his daughter, Pamela Brezina and husband, Donald of Norfolk, VA; brother, Roy Talent and wife, June of Springfield, MO; sisters-in-law, Shirley Talent, of Springfield, MO and Ruth Talent of Springfield, MO; long time, close friend, Lorene Bouldin, of Springfield, MO and her family as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 7, 2016 in Adams Funeral Home with Gene Gwennap officiating. Burial will follow in McConnell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time Monday, March 7, 2016 in the funeral home.
