Ernest E. Agnew

Ernest E. Agnew, age 79, of Nixa passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. He was born December 16, 1935 in Nauvoo, IL to Ernest L. and Joy (Garner) Agnew. He married Rosa L. Shelton in 1980. Ernest was a driver for Yellow Freight until he retired after 18 years. He was a family man. He loved not only his family, but extended that love to those around him. Ernest was very outgoing and never met a stranger. Ernest's favorite things to do were to fish at Table Rock Lake, and watch the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. Ernest is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rosa; his children Tammy Carter, of Columbus, IN, Cindy Whitcomb, of Mooresville, IN, Raymond Agnew, of Nixa, and Steven Agnew; his siblings Raymond Agnew, of Ft. Myers, FL, Frank Agnew, of Bloomington, IN, Sharon Flake, and husband John, of Columbus, IN, and Judy Mann, of Avon, IN; five grandchildren, and three great grandchild. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Doris Anderson, Carol Guthrie, Patty Daumn, and Barbara Bain, and Kay Cox; and a daughter Rhonda Fern Agnew-Nichols. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, March 19, 2015, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 20, 2015 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
