Elvie Frances Blevins, age 92, of Nixa, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born July 14, 1921, in Galena, the daughter of Frances "Mert" Little and Edith (Eutsler) Little. She was united in marriage to Lowell Blevins who preceded her in death in 1986.
Elvie worked in several positions and before retirement was a beautician. She was saved and baptized at an early age and was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nixa. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with each one. She enjoyed traveling and quilting.
Survivors include: Two daughters, Linda Baird and husband Roy of Highlandville, and Vivian Campbell and husband Jim of Sparta; a daughter-in-law, Linda Kaye Blevins of Forsyth; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta Essary of Galena; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell, a son Edward "Cobb" Blevins' and brothers and sisters, Velma Jean, May, Bill, Carl, Grace, Kirby, and Fern.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday, March 24, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor George Bishop and Pastor Randy Harwood officiating. Burial will follow in Highlandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5:00 PM Sunday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
