Elaine Hancock

Elaine Hancock passed away March 2, 2018. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 6, 1955 and was the daughter of Don and Peggy Sartin. Elaine attended CMSU and earned her degree in Business Education in 1977. She graduated from MSU with her Master's in Education in 2007. Elaine taught special education at Nixa High School until she retired in 2014. Elaine was an active member at Ozark Highlands Church and continued to support the Nixa Eagles even after retirement. In the spring she could frequently be found outside working on her garden and flowers. Her passion was teaching her students. Elaine will always be remembered for her strong faith in God, her love for her family, and her attendance at every scouting ceremony, football game, track meet, band concert, and basketball game her family participated in. Elaine is survived by her husband and best friend Don of 40 years, mother Peggy, brother Steve (Nicole), children Megan (Andy), Matt (Ashley), and Ashley, and Grandmother to Lydia. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Sartin. Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Monday, March 5th from 5 to 7pm. The funeral will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Tuesday, March 6th at 10am with Mark Zimmerman officiating, followed by burial at McConnell-Bledsoe Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Ozarks Highlands Church or Champion Athletes of the Ozarks.
