Gene Edwin Flood, of Nixa, passed away in his home Saturday, September 15, 2012. He was born November 17, 1937, in Nixa, the son of Jake and Verna (Keltner) Flood. He was a graduate of Nixa High School and served his country in the Army Reserves.
Gene was a builder/developer who always took pride in his work. He was a faithful member of Countryside Christian Church. He loved his family and always looked forward to spending time with them on the lake. He and his wife, Jan, were married January 6, 1979.
Survivors include: His wife, Jan; two children, Ethan Baker and wife Robin, Nixa, and Lisa Soto and husband Russell, Ridgedale; seven grandchildren, Sharrell, Lauren, Amanda, Darcy, Samantha, Carson, and Madison; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Flood and wife Sharon, and Joe Flood and wife Lisa, and a sister, Vernetta Bates and husband Gordon, all of Nixa; his church family; other relatives and many friends.
Gene"�s family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their loving care given to Gene throughout his final days.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 18, with a memorial service following at 7:00 PM in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Rodney McCann officiating.
