Edna Sue Hill, age 79, of Aurora, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2017. She was born July 25, 1937 in Nixa, the third child born to Harol E. and Jewel D. (Pearce) Avery. The family moved to Chico, CA, where Edna graduated from high school. She lived and worked in San Francisco where she married Patric Reilly. Together they had a daughter, Patricia. Edna returned to Southwest Missouri where she married Jesse "Bud" Hill. Edna lived and worked in Aurora for over 40 years, and was active in her community. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed music and dancing, camping at the lake, and spending time with her beloved family and friends. As an adult Edna accepted the Lord as her Savior.
Survivors include: Her daughter Patricia Sue Reilly-Moore, Springfield; step-daughter, Pam Winslow and husband Will of Mountain Home, Arkansas; grandsons, Joseph M. Moore of Bolivar, Samuel A. Moore of Anchorage, AK, Daniel C. Moore of Springfield, Marc Essary of Boise, ID, and Matt Essary of Suwanee, GA; four great-grandchildren; a niece, Susan Jane Wiles, of Ozark; many cousins and friends including special friend, Ruth Pendergraft.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Harol, her husband Jesse Hill, a sister, Maggie Sue Campbell and husband Clifford, and infant brother Jackie Edward Avery.
A memorial service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 11, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 3:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery at a later date.
