Dwight (Ike) Eugene Glossip, 72 of Nixa, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 13th, 2025 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. He was born June 4th, 1952 in Ozark, Missouri, to Herman and Imogene (Moore) Glossip. Dwight attended Abesville and Galena Schools, graduating from Spokane High School in the class of 1970. He was a devoted husband to Melodee for 40 years, loving father, uncle, brother, and super proud grandpa/PaPa to his grandchildren. Dwight's brother Larry gave him the precious gift of life through a kidney transplant in September of 2000. That gift was beautifully successful for 25 years, right up to Dwight's passing.
Survived by his wife Melodee (Osburn) Glossip; sons Kenny (Jen) Glossip, Dwight Glossip (fiancé Kristie); grandchildren, Kinley, Seth, Halle, Grace, and Piper; brother Larry (Paula) Glossip; sister-in-law Talli Steward; nephews, Darrell (Jenny) Calvert, Dallas Calvert, Jody (Kirsten) Glossip, Jesse Bogle, and Clete Eutsler; nieces, Kalika Deadrick, Sherri Dean, Ronnee Bogle; and so many very special people he held to his heart, and his little dog Snowball.
Dwight was rock solid in his faith. Oh, how he loved in his friendships, and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved life, was so funny, always smiling and his dimples were as big as his heart. If you knew Dwight, you understood his work ethic. He retired from Roadway Express in 2009 after 34 years, was a lifelong cattleman, and began a partnership in the horse business with his father-in-law Clell Osburn in the early 80's. He continued on the legacy with Missouri Horse Auction right up until the time of his passing and his family will proudly continue the same legacy because of, and for them both.
A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22. 2025 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri. Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with burial following his services in the Sparta, IOOF Cemetery, Sparta, Missouri.
