Duncan Neil Clyne

November 24, 1946 — July 15, 2012

Duncan Neil Clyne, age 65, departed this world suddenly at his home on July 15. Duncan was born on Nov. 24, 1946 in Cali, Colombia, South America to Edward and Elizabeth Clyne, missionaries to Colombia. Duncan attended College of the Ozarks, received his B.A. in Education from Missouri State and his Masters Degree in Counseling. He began his career teaching history at Mansfield and Seymour. The majority of his career was as an elementary school counselor in the Springfield School System. Upon retiring after 40 years, he continued teaching at Ozarks Technical College. Duncan served as pastor of the Pierson Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 41 years. He was active in many church, civic and community organizations. He is survived by four brothers, Malcolm of London, England, Douglas (Retta) of Coldwater, Michigan, Colin (Jeanne) of Ozark, Missouri, Alister (Lisa) of Eagle River, Alaska, several nieces and nephews and dear friend, Marlane Gibbons. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Catriona. Duncan was a beloved brother, uncle, friend, teacher, and pastor and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The Pierson Church at Billings, Mo. will hold a Celebration of Life Service in honor of Duncan on Sunday, July 29 at 9:30 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Campbell United Methodist Church in Springfield on Sunday, July 29 at 3:00 p.m. The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Duncan"�s memory consider the Denton Children"�s Home, 1304 Bernard (Drawer G), Denton, Texas 76202.
