Dudley Brown, age 69, passed away in his home Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He was born November 1, 1949 in Scott City, KS to Willard and Marjorie (Fitzpatrick) Brown. He married Debra Glenn January 2, 1986.
Dudley was a hard worker and worked at Zenith in Springfield for 26 years until the plant closed in 1993. He then went to work for Kraft Foods in Springfield for 18 years and retired in 2011.
Dudley had a passion for turkey hunting and hunted turkey with one of his two sons, grandsons and his best friend Benny. Dudley was known for keeping his yard in perfect condition. Dudley was very proud of his boys Dana and Brandon and loved his grandchildren and great granddaughter. Dudley loved his dogs. He had two labs, Bue and Thunder, a rat terrier, Penny, and a Boston terrier, Abby.
Dudley was a good Christian man and was very active in his church, North Nixa Baptist Church. He loved his church family and participated in many projects and activities. He also loved giving free advice and his opinions whether you wanted it or not.
Dudley is survived by his wife, Debra, of 33 years; two sons Dana Brown, his fianc� Marci Chadwell of Mt. Vernon, and Brandon Brown, his wife Abby of Springfield; grandchildren Dakota Brown, his wife Brooke of Yukon, OK, Dalton Brown of Rolla, Kai Brown of Mt. Vernon, Jack Brown of Carthage, Stella Brown and Nora Brown of Springfield; one great granddaughter Collins Brown of Yukon, OK; siblings LaReva Newcomer, her husband Jim of KC, MO, Sue Wade, her husband Scotty of KC, MO, Carolyn Slavens, her husband Ken of Springfield, Larry Brown, his wife Cindy of Halltown, and Kevin Brown, his wife Mary of Halltown; and many nieces, nephews and friends
Dudley was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 7, 2019 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A visitation will follow the service.
