Duane Judson Olmsted

Duane Judson Olmsted, age 79 of Rockaway Beach, passed away August 16, 2021. He was born March 24, 1942 in Baldwinsville, New York, son of George Russell and Maude Arlene (Thomas) Olmsted. Duane served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from New York State Department of Transportation, where he worked as a Firefighter and E.M.T. Duane was a member of Faith Wisdom Church. Survivors include: his wife, Linda Lou (Bowers) Olmsted of Rockaway Beach; children, Lynn Olmsted-Luna of Ozark, Billy (Duane) Olmsted and wife Cheryl of Texas, J.R. (James Russell) Olmsted of Aurora, and; stepdaughters, Teresa Glaubitz of Ozark, Chris Baldwin and Sheila Range of Branson and Jana and Jason Range-Litel of Galena; many grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and siblings, Russ Olmsted and wife Sarah of New York, Kay and Earl Martin of New York and Chris Olmsted and wife Karen of New York. Duane was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Liz Olmsted; two grandsons, Joshua Olmsted and Chon Luna; and a great grandson, Zared. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 20, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Dr. Wade Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Highlandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
