Dorothy (Tidball) Criswell, age 98, of Nixa passed away February 22, 2022 at the Manor at Elfindale. She was born February 14, 1924 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of James (Henry) and Clara (Hultman) Tidball. Dorothy married Marion Criswell on May 9, 1948 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Ottumwa, Iowa. Marion preceded her in death after 69 years of marriage. Dorothy was an accomplished seamstress. She made clothing and a wedding dress for her daughter, a suit for her husband, dresses and doll clothes for her granddaughters, a quilt for her grandson, as well as numerous household items.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Dana Criswell, his wife Debra of Ozark; a daughter, Sally Clime, her husband Mike of Olathe, Kansas; four grandchildren, Sarah Waddle, (John) of Rogersville, Sumerly Miles, (Aaron) of Ozark, Alyssa Franzke, (Tim) of Overland Park, Kansas, and Tyler Clime, (Neta Meltzer) of Denver, Colorado; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Virgil Tidball and Lois Grim.
A Celebration of Life funeral service with visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Adams Funeral Home in Ozark. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
