Dorothy Lou Clark, age 86, of Clever, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014. She was born January 12, 1928 in Hayti, Missouri, the daughter of Alvin and Mildred (Norton) Reeves. On August 26, 1950 she and Benjamin Clark were united in marriage. Dorothy graduated from the Missouri Baptist Nursing School in 1951. She worked as a registered nurse for the Missouri Baptist Hospital and was Operating Room Supervisor until 1974. She then served as School Nurse for the Riverview Gardens School District until retiring in 1986.
Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church in Clever. She had also been active in the First Baptist Church of Nixa, where she previously lived.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; a son William Dean Clark; siblings, Alvin Jr, Mary Jean, Donald, Richard, and Emma Sue; and her parents.
Survivors include three children, Charles Clark and wife Rosa of Mission, Texas, Mary Beth Clayton and husband Rich of St. Louis, and Ruth Ann Hinson and husband Jerome of Fredericksburg, Virginia; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Patsy Ann McCormick, Ruth Larmon and husband Gary, and David Reeves and wife Nancy; and a sister-in-law, Anita.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 6, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be Friday, March 7, at 12:45PM in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. A second visitation will from noon until service time on Thursday.
