Dorothy Francis Burns

Dorothy Francis Burns, age 81, of Nixa, passed away in Ozark Riverview Manor on August 31, 2013. She was born December 26, 1931, in Springfield, the daughter of Frank Leslie and Estella Mae (Glenn) Wadkins. On February 19, 1947, she and Robert "Bob"� Burns were united in marriage. Dorothy was a member of Fremont Hills Baptist Church. She loved her family and devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her grandkids. Survivors include: Six children, Frank Burns and Linda of Nixa, Cindy Melton and Rick of Grain Valley, MO, Jim Burns and Kay of Clever, Leslie Burns and Lisa of Ozark, Cherie Messersmith and John Eastin of Ozark, and David Burns and Jodie of Clever; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2001, a daughter Charlotte, and grandsons, Rob Melton and Travis Smith. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Art Hicklin officiating. Burial will follow in Glenn Cemetery, south of Nixa. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time on Wednesday.
