Dorothy Braden, age 77 of Ozark, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014. She was born January 26, 1936 in Ozark, the daughter of Lenvil and Ida Harriet (Meadows) Melton.
On November 13, 1954, Dorothy was united in marriage to John William Braden, who preceded her in death on July 14, 2004.
Dorothy was a dairy farmer with her husband, and also worked at Fasco Industries in Ozark from 1966-1998. Dorothy was baptized at a young age at First Baptist Church of Ozark. She attended Victory Baptist Church in Ozark as well as Calvary Baptist Church in Nixa.
Survivors include: her seven children, Larry Dale Braden and wife Jackie, Marshfield, Terry Wayne Braden and wife Angie, Spanaway, Washington, Deanna Karen Delong and husband William Junior, Sparta, Donnie Keith Braden, Sparta, Kenneth Wade Braden and wife Lisa, Pleasant Hope, Sherry Lynne Long and husband Jeff, Ozark and Rick William Braden and wife Becky, Oldfield; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold Melton, Ozark and Glenn Melton and wife Dolly, Springfield.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Melton; and her sister, Louise Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Ron Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.adamsfuneralhome.net.
