Dorothy Mae Bilyeu, age 84, of Ozark, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, in Ozark Riverview Manor. She was born April 2, 1930 in the Bird Eye community of Greene County, the daughter of David Newton Reeves and Marie Ola (Knowles) Reeves. On March 21, 1959 she and Sidney Bilyeu were united in marriage. Sidney preceded her in death in 1992.
Dorothy and Sidney moved to their farm in Ozark in the early 1960's. Dorothy worked along her husband, and especially enjoyed the bottle fed calves. She also had worked for St. John's hospital as an event planner. Dorothy made many quilts in her spare time. She was a member of Nixa Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include: Her son, Scott Bilyeu and wife Naomi of Ozark; a grandson, Ryan Bilyeu of Ozark; three sisters, Jo Ann Hargis of Tacoma WA, Wilma Carpenter of Sacramento, CA, and Bonnie Reeves of Springfield; two brothers, Price Reeves of Paris, AR, and Guy Reeves of Magazine, AR; a special family friend, Lester Ruggles; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 14, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A graveside funeral will follow at 2:30 PM in Hopedale Cemetery, with Pastor Gary Mitchener officiating.
