Doris L. "Motor" Morgan, age 86 of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016. She was born August 24, 1929 in Marionville, the daughter of Otis and Ada (Poston) Montgomery.
"Motor" was devoted to her family and delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a proud retired state employee having worked for the Division of Family Services for thirty-seven years. "Mrs. Morgan" retired as the Director of Greene County Family Services; she cherished and admired the staff there. She was a great story teller and lavished her family and friends with incidents of her childhood from McKinley and Mt. Olive Methodist Church. Doris was an avid reader, game player, and lover of chocolate.
Survivors include: her children, Jolie Ikard, Ozark; James T. Montgomery and wife Diana, Edmond, Oklahoma and John Dirk Morgan, Aurora; grandchildren, Jenny Ikard Owen and husband Matt, Springfield, Rachel Ikard Clinton and husband Jared, St. Charles, Amanda Montgomery, Bakersfield, California, Melissa Montgomery James and husband Beau, Sunnyvale, Texas, Christopher Morgan, Kansas City, Missouri, Brendon Morgan, Dallas, Texas, and Madison Morgan, Springfield; and great grandchildren, Claire Owen, Wyatt James and Max Morgan.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her brothers, Dr. Clifford Montgomery and Darvon Montgomery.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Mt. Olive Methodist Church, Marionville, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Reverend Carol Ann Chilton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
