Donna Lou Steele

Donna Lou Steele, 83, of Nixa, began her life in Heaven on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. Donna is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Nora Ball, her husband of 48 years James Royce Steele, and three brothers Robert, Norman and Dale Ball. Donna is survived by a brother, Dorlyn & Carrie Ball of Bridgeton, Missouri, five sons; James & Debbie Steele, David & Vicky Steele, both of Springfield, Rodger & Angela Steele of Hernando, MS, Allan & LuAnn Steele of Webster Groves, Missouri and Geoff & Joy Steele of Nixa. Donna is lovingly remembered by a wealth of family and friends, including 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Donna was born in Kansas City Missouri on September 17, 1930. She was a graduate of West Plains High School. It was here she met James Royce Steele, and the two were married on May 17, 1951 in Emporia Kansas. Donna was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield. She loved music, art and theatre. She modeled service throughout her life in a variety of organizations. She worked as an interior designer for much of her life, with a penchant for color. Donna's sons would like to extend special gratitude to Glenn Willard, with his children Lana and Randy for their generous friendship extended to their mother in these last several years. Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 109 North Truman Boulevard, Nixa, MO 65714 on Monday, March 24 from 6PM to 8PM. A celebration of life will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa on Tuesday, March 25 at 11AM with Pastor Hosea Bilyeu officiating. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
