Donna Joe (Hanks) Hensley, age 76, of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022. She was born October 28, 1945 in Ozark, the daughter of Billy Joe and Ruth Ann (Landes) Hanks. Donna graduated from Ozark High School and cosmetology school. She managed Glen Isle Salon in Springfield, and later worked in Ozark. Throughout her career Donna also worked with her family in Hanks Western Auto Store in Ozark. She was a member of Selmore Christian Church.
Donna was devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was there for all of them, including any family member who needed her.
Donna was an artist and loved to paint. She was a board member and contributing artist for Finley River Art Gallery. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening, having transplanted plants from other family locations. Her pets were a constant comfort to her including her dog Bandit.
Survivors include: Two sons, Jeff Hensley and James Hensley, both of Ozark; grandchildren, Aidan, Mya, Savannah, Ranea and Bonnie; nieces and nephew, Megan, Dusten, and Dena; great nieces and nephew, Cori, Laney, and Lucas; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Greg Hanks, and a great-nephew, Tyler.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Monday, July 25, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A graveside service will follow at 6:30 PM in Ozark City Cemetery, with family member Eric Praschan officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Finley River Art Gallery in Donna’s name.
