Donna Cowan

Donna J. Cowan, age 81, of Cape Fair, MO passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017. She married Clifford R. Cowan in Pawhuska, OK May 12, 1957. Donna began teaching piano at a young age and had over 300 students over her lifetime. She played piano and organ in church since she was 18. Donna accompanied high school music students at competitions at area and state competitions. She was a member of the Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Colorado Music Teachers Guilds as well as the National Music Teachers Guild. Donna and her husband Cliff were Hospice Volunteers. Donna had a contagious smile and a sweet personality. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Donna loved and served the Lord all of her life. She was a member of the Edgewater Community Church, in Cape Fair where she also played the piano and organ. Donna is survived by her husband, Cliff; two daughters Vicki Baldwin, her husband Ken of Claremore, OK, and Rhonda Mead, her husband Robert of Nixa, MO; grandchildren Kyle Baldwin, his wife Amanda of Yukon, OK and Kurt Baldwin of Skiatook, OK; two great grandchildren Connor Baldwin and Emmett Baldwin; a sister Jerra Vonn Hulse of Pawhuska, OK; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Donna is preceded in death by her parents; one brother Leroy Willcox; and one sister Deloris Hanby. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2017 in the Edgewater Community Church, Cape Fair, MO, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the music department of a Christian school of your choice or a local elementary school music department.
