My precious mother, Donna Faye Bright, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021 at home in Ozark surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.
Donna was born on November 30, 1950 in Granite City, IL to Bill and Dorothy (Waddle) Watkins. On December 14, 1979 she married Terry Eugene Bright, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2009.
She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Gist, one grandson, Darwin Evan Gist and one loyal best friend of almost 40 years, Sherry Brock.
Donna was a devoted caregiver her entire life. She devoted her life to raising her daughter and played a vital role in raising her grandson. After raising her daughter, she cared for her mother and father in her home until their passing. Later in life, her favorite pastime was listening to her grandson practice trombone and attending his many concerts. Donna didn’t really have any hobbies of her own. She found joy in watching her daughter and grandson do what they loved and their accomplishments. She is best described as a selfless caregiver with the kindest, sweetest more gentle heart.
Her love for Jesus met no boundaries. The family is finding comfort in the verse “Therefore you too have grief now, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.” John 16:22
Donna never wanted to be the center of attention, so a private Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held by the family.
