Donald R. Walker, age 79, of Chadwick passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020. He was born April 2, 1941 at his home on Blue Creek Road in Chadwick. He was born to Elmer and Thelma (Adams) Walker. Don grew up on the family farm in the Blue Creek Road area, and lived his entire life there. Don and his parents worked at an exclusive hotel in Rockaway Beach named the Taneycomo Hotel every summer.
Don graduated from Chadwick High School in 1960 and married Wilda Faye Jones on April 1, 1961. He worked at the Crescent Feed Mill in Springfield for one year and went to work for Dayco in 1962. Don worked for Dayco for 37 � years retiring in 1999. Don worked for 13 years at Dayco without missing a day of work.
Don's first wife Faye passed away January 9, 1997 after 36 years of marriage. He concentrated on raising his two grandsons Jake and Dusty Hull. After 45 years, Don and Janice Floyd-Hedgpeth became reacquainted and were married on November 8, 2008.
Don enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting all kinds of game. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; three sons, Danny Walker, Dennis Walker and his wife Cindy, and Darrell Walker and his wife Kerry; a daughter, Penny Hull; a stepdaughter, Pam Kueck and her husband Kenny; a stepson, Len Hedgpeth; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Faye.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Chadwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pine Ridge Church.
