Donald Hugh Roller, age 79, of Sparta, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011. He was born May 15, 1931, in Sparta, the son of Jamie and Chloe (Shipman) Roller. On December 27, 1947 he and Barbara June Harrison were united in marriage. Don was a mechanical contractor and plumber for over 50 years. He retired in 2003. He was also a cattle farmer, and opened and closed hundreds of area graves throughout the years. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a member and Past Master of Sparta Masonic Lodge #296. He was a member of Valley of Joplin Scottish Rite, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, and Past Grand Tiler, State of Missouri. He served as Past Worthy Patron of Sparta Eastern Star #326. Survivors include: His wife Barbara; two sons and their wives, Jim and Leanna Roller, and Kenneth and Karla Roller, all of Sparta; six grandchildren, Michelle DaVolt and husband Sean, Jennifer Pearman and husband Joey, Stephanie Roller, Kevin Roller, Keith Roller and wife Amy, and Curtis Roller; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Wesley and Violet Roller and Dale and Cathy Roller; a sister-in-law, Juanita Roller; nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Roller, a son John Lesley Roller, a brother Ival Roller, and his parents. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Gil Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Shipman Cemetery, Sparta. Visitation will be from 5:00 "� 7:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home. A Masonic Honor Guard will be present during the visitation with a Masonic Rose Croix Service starting at 7:00 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to Scottish Rite Childhood Speech and Language Program or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
