Donald Dean Rees, age 81, of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015. He was born December 27, 1933, in Greene County, Iowa, the youngest of nine children of Joseph Allison Rees and Lulu Ann (Thornton) Rees. In 1954 he and Margaret Ann Mount were united in marriage.
Don began a long teaching career in Jefferson, Iowa. He also taught and coached at Bonita High School in LaVerne, California, where he retired in 1977. He began teaching again and retired from Rogersville as a math and science teacher and coach. He enjoyed his students and many of them admired Mr. Rees and felt he was a friend to them.
Don loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. In earlier days he hunted and trapped in Iowa, and he enjoyed playing baseball and track. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ozark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, Lawson Rees and William Rees, and six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: His wife, Margaret; four children and their spouses, Don Rees Jr. and Janet of Lee's Summit, MO, Bob and Lisa Rees of Houston, TX, Sheri and Chris Scott of Aurora, CO, and Chuck and Tina Rees of Ozark; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Morlan; a brother John Rees; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 6, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Pembina Cemetery, Rogersville. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until service time on Monday.
Memorials in Don's name may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
