Donald Jon Rasor, age 75, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Barberton, OH, May 28, 1938. Donald was united in marriage to Janet Barr, September 10, 1960, in Joliet, IL. Donald and Janet lived in Joliet, IL for many years. They decided to move to Nixa, MO, after retiring. Donald worked in the plastics industry for many years, as a foreman. After working in plastics, he worked as a dispatcher for the security department at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, in Joliet. Donald was an outdoorsman, and loved to fish and hunt. He loved football and was a fan of the Chicago Bears. Donald went to culinary arts school, and was an excellent cook. Donald loved his Brittany Spaniels and to tell jokes. Donald had a big heart. He loved his family and was the life of the party. He enjoyed being around people and socializing. Donald is survived by his wife Janet; sons Scott Rasor, his wife Patricia, of Palatine, IL, and David Rasor, of Ozark, MO; grandchildren Natalie, Madalyn, and Lauren Rasor, of Palatine, IL, and Shane Rasor, of Nixa, MO and , Joshua Rasor, of Ozark, MO; a brother Colin Rasor, and wife Tina, of Oshkosh, WI; and a sister Patricia, and husband Stephen Harman, of Kankakee, IL; and many nieces and nephews. Donald is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Barbara Rasor; and a nephew Colin Rasor Jr. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3322 S Campbell Ave, Springfield, MO 65807. A memorial service will be held in, Joliet, IL, at a later date.
