Dewey Lee Moore

Dewey Lee Moore, age 76, of Nixa, MO, passed away on April 4, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on March 13, 1942, in Everett, WA and was raised in Highlandville by Louis and Ida Belle (Holstein) Moore. Since 1960, Dewey was self-employed as a contractor. He enjoyed working outdoors, raising exotic animals, cooking for his family, teasing everyone, and most of all he loved eating. He is survived by his sons Tony Moore, Chris (Tammi) Moore, Dale (Kelly) Moore, all of Nixa; daughters Missy (Bruce) Riley, Hurley, and Heidi Moore, St. Louis; stepchildren, Amanda Bolin, Justin Hurt, life-long best friend, Margaret Moore, siblings Jerry (Ruth) Moore, Genetta Ford, all of Nixa, Claudetta Taylor of Highlandville, and Sharon Rysted of Selmore; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe and sister Genevieve. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 with burial at Jones-Chastain Cemetery, Nixa, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
