Dewey Virgil Lassley, 86, of Rogersville, passed away April 5, 2024, at 6:35 AM, resting peacefully surrounded by his children. He was born October 31, 1937, in Rogersville to William Ola and Lexie Capitola (Patterson) Lassley. On October 29, 1958, he was united in marriage to Milda Todd and remained married until her death in 1982. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Arthur Lassley and his sister, Wilma Green.
Dewey is survived by his children, Scott Lassley and wife Ruth of Springfield, Kevin Lassley of Rogersville, and Karen Garrison and husband Kenny of Branson; grandchildren, Lyndsey Wingo and husband Sean of Ozark, Dillon Lassley and wife Lizi of Rogersville, and Nathan, Lauren, and Parker Garrison of Branson; great grandchildren, Sawyer and Emerson Lassley of Rogersville, and Jack and Finn Wingo of Ozark. He was a devoted dad and grandpa, whose family meant everything to him; he will be greatly missed.
Dewey graduated from Rogersville High School in 1955. He worked as a clerk and a field agent for Major Cheese Factory in Ozark until 1969, when he began operating Ozark Farm Supply. He operated Ozark Farm Supply until it was sold in 2003. In 1983, Dewey also started Jones-Lassley Realty with Zelda Jones, where he worked until the time of his passing.
Dewey was baptized at the Rogersville Church of Christ in 1969, where he remained an active member his entire life. Dewey had a love for baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1970, he was a founding member of Christian County Baseball for Boys, which built the baseball fields at the Ozark Finley River Park. These fields continue to serve the youth of Christian County today.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 10, 2024. A burial will follow in McHaffie Cemetery, Christian County, MO. Danny Fox, of the Rogersville Church of Christ, will be officiating.
