DeWayne Glen Clinton

August 10, 1954 — July 1, 2012

DeWayne Glen Clinton, 57, of Nixa, passed away July 1, 2012 in an automobile accident in Kansas. He was born August 10, 1954, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the son of Glen and Doris LaDonne (Shelton) Clinton; grew up in St. Louis; moved to California in 1972; married Janette Humphreys on May 12, 1979; and returned to Missouri--to Nixa--in 1986 to continue to grow his family in the community that they still call home. DeWayne had a passion for electronics and technology and used it to innovate throughout his life. He was in the access control industry for over 35 years and--for the majority of that--applied his ingenuity to his own small business; most recently, Access Concepts. Raised in the church, he devoutly pursued his faith and scripture and instilled a deep reverence for God in those who knew him. Since 2005, he had been an active, beloved member of Springfield First Church of the Nazarene. We think of him now dancing in the presence of his Lord. Survivors include his wife, Jan; six children, Jason and partner Brandon Ward (Boulder), Sheree (Nixa), Aaron and fiance Madison Ash (Springfield), Daniel (Springfield), Andrea (Nixa), and Hayley (Nixa); his parents, Glen and LaDonne Clinton (Rogersville); two sisters, DaNell Waddell and husband Dennis (Willard); and Dana Ice and husband Bill (Battlefield); and many other dear family members and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 7, in Springfield First Church of the Nazarene, 3245 S. Kansas Ave., with Rev. Brandin Melton officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday in the church. Memorial donations may be made to Springfield First Church of the Nazarene.
