Delton L Cotton

March 18, 1933 — August 27, 2013

Delton L. Cotton (Del) died August 27, 2013 at the age of 80. Del was born at home in the Gentry Community, north of Diggins, MO. He was the son of Elmer Ted and Ona (Brumback) Cotton. Del enjoyed playing with his family, hunting, fishing and just being outside. He was talented in repairing things. After retiring from electrical work, he spent most of his time caring for others. He embodied a life of integrity, honesty and love and will be truly missed by his family and friends. Del was a charter member of the Christian Family Church. He was Past Master and served 50 years plus years with the Masonic Lodge number 459, Seymour, MO., 55 year member of Electrical Union #453, 50 years plus member of Seymour Order of the Eastern Star. In 1952 Del and Joy Anderson were married. They were blessed with two daughters. Del is survived by Joy, his wife of 61 years, daughters and spouses, Trisha and Hank Thompson and Cindy and Russ Heavin, three grandchildren, Lindsey Jones, Matthew Thompson and Grant Thompson, six great grandchildren, Tanner, Sarah, Brayden, Trevor, Ashlan and Ellie, two brothers and spouses, Wayne and Billie Cotton and Jack and Sharon Cotton, sister-in-law and husband Linda and George Loveland, several nieces and nephews and many loving and supporting friends and neighbors. Del"�s family wishes to thank the nurses at Mercy Hospital for their loving support. Please, no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Family Church, Masonic Lodge, or leukemia research. A graveside funeral will be held Friday, August 30th at 10:00 AM at the Sparta Cemetery, Sparta, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
