Delores, Dee, Koehn, age 78, of Nixa, passed away after a long illness, Friday, October 18, 2013. She was born in Madisonville, KY, December 4, 1934, to Buck and Mildred, Emerson, Tapp. She married Robert Koehn in February of 1953, in Clarksville, TN, celebrating 60 years together.
Dee was a feisty woman and had quite a temper. You could always find her with coffee, a cigarette, and miniature Three Musketeers candy bars. She was a stay at home Mom for most of her children"�s growing years. She was an excellent cook and baker, making everything from scratch. It didn"�t matter what Robert caught or killed, Dee could cook it and made it great. Dee opened a restaurant, The Blue Jay, in Cimarron, KS, in 1975. She got to know all of the kids in town, and was always ready to help the young people with advice, or a job. She helped many young people get back on their feet. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She loved taking care of them when they were young and spending time with them.
Dee is survived by: Her husband, her children, Kelly, of Chandler, AZ, Lex and husband David, of Nixa, and Brian Keohn, of Bryant, AR; Grandchildren, Michael Frazer, of Edmond, OK, Alexis and Makaila Leonhart, of Nixa, and Kala Wegrzyn, of Ft. Smith, AR; and one sister, Louise and husband Bill Gustafson, of Brookhaven, MS.
Dee is preceded in death: by her parents, a brother, William Tapp, and sisters, Paulette Tapp, Lucille Tapp, and Shirley Franks.
