Delbert Leroy Mills

Delbert Leroy Mills, affectionately known as Doc, passed away on October 16th, 2023, in Springfield, MO. He was born on December 25th, 1943, in Greene County, Missouri the son of Delbert Leroy Sr., and Mary (Burney) Mills.

Before graduation from Ash Grove High School, he worked part time for his father's Phillips 66 gas station in Bois D' Arc.

Doc embarked on a career spanning over three decades at Hutchens Steel Industries in Seymour and Mansfield. However, beyond his work ethics, Doc's true pride and joy were his family. He was blessed with a loving wife, Connie Mills, who survives him.

Doc was also a devoted father to his sons Kevin Mills and wife Bridget and Darron Mills. Survivors also include his sister Linda Daniels and her husband Ed; grandchildren, Jacob D. Mills and Nathan D. Mills; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to being an exceptional carpenter constructing magnificent cabinets and remodeling two homes, Doc enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting coyotes and fishing with his dear friend Dale Green at Stockton Lake and Mutton Creek. These hobbies brought him happiness and served as an outlet for relaxation.

Doc Mills will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

According to Doc's wishes cremation was accorded by Adams Crematory, with arrangements made by Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
