Dean Blades, age 72, of Nixa passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 in his home after a short battled with cancer. He was born November 1, 1944 in Springfield to Clarence and Mildred (Patton) Blades. Dean married Shirley Murray May 8, 1976, celebrating 40 years of marriage.
Dean was a steel welder by trade but was a jack of all trades and a master of all. He enjoyed building street rods, watching Nascar and spending time with his street rod family. Dean loved to be with family and friends. He was a bit ornery and would tease and joke with his friends and family.
Dean is survived by his wife Shirley; two sons Chris Blades, Chad (Kim) Blades of Texas; a Daughter Michelle (Chris) Dillard; special granddaughters (Baby) Bailey and Grace; and grandson Jack; sisters Marilyn and Ilene; a very special brother and sister-in-law Fred, Teresia Sherwood, Harvey (Shalene) Murray; and mother-in-law Viola (Reggie) McHaffie.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents.
The family will hold a graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Manley Cemetery, Nixa
Flowers are to be delivered to the cemetery.
