Dayla Janelle Austin, age 40, of Ozark, passed away Saturday, May 24. She was born September 30, 1973, in St. Louis, the daughter of Dale Dintelmann and Jane (Kendall) Dintelmann. On May 31, 2008, she and Jasper Latimer Austin were married.
Dayla received her Masters Degree in Geospatial Science from MSU. She was employed by Spatial Data Research, where she processed information for maps used by emergency response services. Dayla loved the outdoors, and had a passion for hiking and camping. In 2001, she fulfilled her dream of walking the entire length of the Appalachian Trail, making several lasting friendships on her journey. She also loved cats, the color purple, rocks, flowers, campfires, and reading.
Survivors include: Her husband, Jasper, her parents, Dale Dintelmann of Riverview, Florida, and Jane Dintelmann of St. Louis; a brother, Scott Dintelmann of St. Louis; cousins, aunts, and uncles, and many good friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, June 14, in Adams Funeral Home in Ozark, Missouri. Friends and family may meet afterward at one of Dayla's favorite local restaurants.
