David W. "Pete" Stucker

March 21, 1927 — June 11, 2015

David W. "Pete" Stucker, age 88, of Ozark, departed this life on June 11, 2015 in Springfield, Missouri.. He was born March 21, 1927 in Ellsinore, Missouri the son of Norvell Stucker and Vergie (Rains) Stucker. Pete joined the Navy in July 1944 and had his 18th birthday as he crossed the equator heading for the war in the Pacific. He served his country for the duration of the war and was honorably discharged in 1948. He married the love of his life on May 30, 1952 and resided in Poplar Bluff, Missouri for most of his life. Pete taught at the Poplar Bluff Area Vocational School for 21 years until his retirement in 1987. Pete was an avid outdoorsman and was blessed with a long and active retirement. He had many hobbies but his favorite pastime and passion was fishing, fishing and fishing! However, he was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and fishing buddies. Pete left a legacy of faith as a devout Christian, most recently attending the General Baptist Church of Ozark. He was a Godly example of a life well-lived and was deeply loved by his family, his many friends and was well respected in the community. He will be sadly missed by all. Pete was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Letha Sweeney, Jane Snodgrass, Mary Lou Haines, Dorothy Skaggs, Edwin Stucker, and Lola Mae Yates. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly (Black) Stucker, four children, Debbie Baggett and husband Jeff, Jackie Gatlin and husband Robin, K. David Stucker and wife Judy, all of Ozark, Missouri and Sandy Crabtree and husband Doug of Little Rock, AR, one brother, Carl Ray Stucker and wife Darlene and one sister, Wanda Wallace both of Ellsinore, two brothers-in-laws Jim Yates of Ellsinore, Missouri and Jerald Skaggs of St. Louis, Missouri, six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many other loved family members. Funeral services will be at 12-noon Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri with Reverend Gary Stucker officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri with full military honors. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. - until service time Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Convoy of Hope.
