David (Dave) Palovick, age 74, of Nixa went to be with his Lord Tuesday, May 23, 2017. He was born in Akron, OH on September 3, 1942 to Victor and Helen (Stark) Palovick. He attended schools in Cayuga Falls, OH and St. Louis. Dave served in the U. S. Army Artillery Division during the Viet Nam War.
Dave worked mostly in the grocery business, and was retired from Associated Wholesale Grocers. It was at a grocery store where he met the love of his life, Marti. They were married May 31 1980. She is left to mourn his absence and wonder who will kill the spiders, fix what breaks and drive her around when the weather is bad. Together they enjoyed years of activities on the water where he indulged in his passions for boating and skiing. Later they traveled in their RV and were avid rock collectors. There are many wonderful memories of Chrystal mining in Arkansas and polishing the rocks we picked up along the way. The anticipation of what lay beneath the rough exteriors of the rocks to see the beauty within is such a great life lesson. Dave was a very private man, and kept his thoughts to himself. Very few were ever able to see the generous heart he had when a friend was in need. He enjoyed woodworking and always seemed to be such a handyman and fix whatever Marti could find to break. His neighbors found this to be a very admirable trait as well. Until the cancer proved to be more than he could conquer, he was a very active person who was never still. His wife often wished he would just sit down so she could.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother-in-law Evelyn Brock for whom he had great admiration and love.
Dave is survived by his wife Marti; brothers Gary Palovick and Art Palovick, his wife Randy; nieces and nephews; and so many wonderful friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Nixa.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
