David Charles Maples was born January 2, 1963 and died at his home in Highlandville, Missouri, February 16, 2017. Between those two dates was a life of 54 years filled with his love of family, friends, and working his farm.
David was born in a Christian home to Orville and Charlon Abbey Maples. His maternal grandmother, Iva Abbey lived with them for many years as he was growing up.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He cared for his mother, Charlon with great love and compassion during her final years of illness.
David enjoyed his farm, the cattle he raised, buying, selling, and hauling cattle for others. His extended family and his many friends were a very important part of his life. He loved his church family who encouraged him through the ups and down of life.
David is survived by two maternal aunts, Evelyn Patrick and husband Donald, and Eleanor Lawry and husband Lowell, his paternal aunts, Martha Ellen White, Freda Roy, Eleanor Jean Coats, Marcella Moore and husband Joe, and uncle Wendell Maples and wife Cathy.
He is also survived by his numerous Maples and Abbey cousins, and his many friends whom he enjoyed spending time with.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 20, 2017 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
