David Powell Holden III, of Nixa, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Ozark Nursing and Care Center. He was born May 22, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of David Powell Holden II and Gwendolyn Joy (Huff) Holden.
Following seminary, David served in New Orleans for the North American Mission Board for a short time. He served as an assistant pastor in Kansas City, Missouri, and then entered the business world. He owned a bait shop in Butler, Missouri, and sold furniture on the road to Arkansas small businesses. His last position was working for ANCO (a division of Chem-Aqua) in southern Missouri. When David retired he moved in to help his mother following his father’s death.
Survivors include: Two children, Tara Holden of Kansas City, Missouri, and Zach Holden of Leavenworth, Kansas; his mother Gwendolyn Holden of Inola, Oklahoma; a sister, Dorcas Acosta of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Daniel Holden of Lampe, Missouri, Dennis Holden of Inola, Oklahoma, and Don Holden of Cherokee, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
A brother, Douglas Holden preceded David in death, as well as his father.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
