Dave Smith

Mr. Dave Smith, age 86, departed this life on October 12, 2023. He was born on April 19, 1937, in Letcher County, Kentucky to Ray and Dixie Smith. He was united in marriage to Sandra Smith on June 9, 1962, and had three children: David Ray Smith, Julie Ann Bryant, and Jeffrey Alan Smith.

Dave was a member at Seminole Baptist Temple in Springfield since 1967, where he drove the bus, taught Childrens Sunday School, lead the Children’s ministry, served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. Dave was led to the lord on March 1 in the early 1960’s. He loved serving in the church.

He is survived by son David Smith and wife Angie of Battlefield, MO; daughter Julie Bryant and husband Jeff of Everton, MO; son Jeffrey Smith and wife Tanya of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren: Alisa, Hannah, Tyler, Hunter, Jordan, and Morgan; one great granddaughter Arya, sister Georgia Smith; sister Darlene, along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is his wife Sandra Smith, his sister Betty, sister Rita, his father Ray Smith, and his mother Dixie Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at at Seminole Baptist Temple in Springfield, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Kevin Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Selmore Cemetery, Ozark. Visitation will be from 1 p.m.- 2 p.m. immediately before the funeral at the church.
