Daryl Anderson, age 80 of Nixa, Missouri, passed away April 18, 2024. He was born July 18, 1943 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Arthur M. and Grace L. (Johnson) Anderson.
Daryl's parents moved to Sioux City, Iowa in 1951. Daryl went to Smith, West Junior, and graduated from Central High School in 1961. He graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1965. Daryl married Vicki K. Kneeland on August 3, 1968.
Daryl passed the CPA exam in 1972 and enjoyed a fruitful career in accounting until he retired at age 55. He then sold his practice to be with his wife, moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he worked in Christian Ministry. He completed an internship in Christian Counseling and became an ordained minister and marriage counselor. His wife joined him in the ministry.
Reaching age 68, Daryl and his wife moved back to Sioux City, Iowa, to begin retirement years It turned out that retirement years became years of attending to health issues, which they both had. Daryl was an active and faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was an appointed elder. Daryl found the Lord as a young man and was a faithful follower of Christ all his days. He loved spending time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife Vicki; his children; a daughter Mindy (Doug Baker), a son Dave (Shelly); and six grandchildren, Chelsea Hannah, Courtney Paige, Josiah Levi, Hailey Nicole, Ainsley Faith, and Dalton Mizell.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Grace Anderson, and in-laws L.D. and Emily Kneeland, and a number of cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 21, 2024 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Travis Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 until service time. Private burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Nixa on Monday.
