Darlene Vietmeier, age 67, of Nixa, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013. She was born May 14, 1945, in Terra Haute, Indiana. On February 1, 1964, she and Raymond Vietmeier were united in marriage.
Darlene was an accountant, most recently for Silver Dollar City. She spent 22 years in St. Peters, Missouri, before moving to Kimberling City, and then to Nixa in 2005. She was a Christian and loved her Lord. Darlene enjoyed crafts, sewing and crocheting blankets she gave to families to "warm their babies"�.
Survivors include: Her husband of 48 years, Raymond; two children, Mike Vietmeier and wife Daleen, Kimberling City, and Mary Ann Davis and husband Rob, Nixa; seven grandchildren, Nolan Prier, Brianna Vietmeier, Justin Vietmeier, Shayla Vietmeier, Ashley Vietmeier, Spencer Davis and Emma Davis; a brother, Robert Shepherd; and three sisters, Pam Regensburger, Debbie Pineda, and Loretta Jones.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta (Jones) Carnes and her parents-in-law, Bernice and Irvin Vietmeier.
Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Friday, January 11, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Mike Vietmeier officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
