Daniel E. Gilbert, born on July 16, 1934, to Marvin and Naomi Gilbert, in Kanorodo, Kansas, peacefully passed away June 5, 2024. He was the cherished husband of Rosemary White Gilbert for 49 years, finding in her his purpose and the love of his life.
Daniel accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. Daniel's professional life was as illustrious as it was impactful. He had been retired for 30 years and enjoyed it immensely. His brilliance as a chemist shone brightly, leaving an indelible mark on the industry he served.
Yet, beyond the boardrooms and laboratories, Daniel's true joy lay in the simple pleasures of life. A fervent golfer and devoted Cardinals fan, he found solace and camaraderie on the green and in the stands. His passion for flying led him to become a skilled pilot and eventually the President and Board Member of the Missouri Pilots Association.
With Rosemary by his side, Daniel embarked on countless adventures, traversing all 50 states and exploring 13 countries. Whether running competitively, serenading Rosemary with his songs, or extending a helping hand to those in need, Daniel's zest for life knew no bounds.
Daniel is survived by his wife Rosemary, daughter Dana Pepper (Bob), bonus children Sharon, David (Billie), and Jim Mickey. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren: Dustin Pepper (Yulia), Eric, Derek, and Sherek, Sarah, Krystal, Tanner Mickey, and Emily Ochoa. Great-grandchildren include Jane, Leo, Britini, Owen, Adalyse, Sophia, and Charlotte.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Naomi Gilbert, his son Larry, his brother Don, his niece Darcy, and his great nephew Matthew.
