Daniel David Kennedy

Daniel David Kennedy, 53, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2024. Born on September 27, 1970, in Springfield, Daniel—known fondly by many as Dan or Danny—spent his life in his hometown, surrounded by family and friends.

He was a devoted husband to Caralea Kennedy, a proud father to Ryan Kennedy and his wife Lindsey Kennedy, and Elizabeth Kennedy and her fiancé Ian Greene. Daniel was a beloved son of David and Donna Kennedy, who survive him. His family meant the world to him, and he will be remembered for his loving, giving, and caring nature.

Since December 2015, Daniel worked at Chick-fil-A, where his Christlike spirit and servant lifestyle were evident in his daily interactions, touching the lives of everyone around him. His leadership, kindness, and generosity made a profound and lasting impact on those he worked with.

Daniel had a deep love for travel, and one of his favorite places to visit was Frankenmuth, Michigan, where he cherished spending time with loved ones. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, cheering on his teams with passion and pride. He loved Christmas, delighting in the festive season, decorating with beautiful lights, and celebrating the birth of his Savior.

Daniel’s infectious spirit and unwavering positivity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues. The family invites all who knew Daniel to celebrate his life and share memories during this time of remembrance. For those unable to attend, your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

The family is hosting a visitation at 2:00 PM followed by a service at 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at South Haven Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri. In honor of Dan, please wear Chiefs or Royals gear or red and blue. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Operation Christmas Child. 

Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
