Dale George Postma, age 75, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017. He was born September 20, 1942 in Elgin, IL to George and Arlette (Pouzar) Postma. He was united in marriage to Doris Huizenga March 24, 1964.
Dale served in the U. S. Air Force on radar sites. After serving in the Air Force Dale owned several businesses over the years. He owned a trash hauling service in Springfield named Sunray Sanitation. He and his son were residential construction contractors. He also ran an insulation company to name a few. Dale raised poultry from a young age and continued through out his life. He took the birds to show and has won many trophies. Dale enjoyed spending time with his son, George, going camping and hunting in Canada in recent years. He enjoyed hunting in Colorado at Buffalo Park. Later in life he had two mule teams and wagons. Dale was saved at an early age and served the Lord at Calvary Bible Church in Nixa. He was very active in his church serving on the deacons board, being a greeter, and going on hospital and home visitations. Dale loved his family and was a good husband, father and grandfather.
Dale is survived by his wife Doris, of 53 years; two children Eva Adams of Springfield, George Postma, his wife Laura of Clever; grandchildren Abby Ganih, her husband James of San Francisco, CA, Annie Adams, Ashley Adams, Amanda Postma, Jeremiah Postma, and Isabella Postma; siblings Joan Roberts, her husband Dave of Stotts City, Jennifer Mock, her husband Mike of Farmington, Missouri, and Jon Postma of Joplin.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be at McConnell-Bledsoe Cemetery at a later date.
